The best thing we can say about Joan Meyer is what our closing attorney said: Joan's a real pro. We found her via a personal recommendation, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone we know looking to buy (or sell) real estate in the Acton area. This was our first real estate purchase. The process seemed intimidating, and we had heard horror stories about agents. Joan made everything seamless - working closely with our mortgage lender, closing attorney, and home inspector. Joan knows the market and has a great eye for construction. She has been helpful with recommendations for tradespeople both before and after closing. She also understands people and gave great advice about what would make our offer successful. I am out-of-state and was handling the sale as power-of-attorney for the owner who was no longer capable of such interactions. I contacted Joan Meyer before arriving in MA and then met with her on site. I was very satisfied with her responsiveness and experience and approach. She was very accommodating to my needs as an out-of-state person handling the affairs of another. She knew the local requirements and walked me through the steps pretty painlessly. She gave excellent recommendations for hiring others -- e.g. a local attorney, a cleaning service, etc. -- which were necessary for our situation.
Joan kept me informed about the progress and all aspects of the sale and provided excellent advice and guidance throughout. I am really grateful for her knowledge, help, and ready availability. We had great open and ongoing communication. I felt extremely comfortable and confident with the process even from far away.

I have been personally involved in residential investment property since 1983 and can state without hesitation that Joan Meyer exemplifies the perfect real estate broker in my experience. She knows the local market and helped us to deftly navigate the entire selling process without any surprises, delays or setbacks. Joan provided me the names of several local tradespeople each of whom did a fabulous job of cleaning, painting, and repairing our unit in order to make it shine for prospective buyers. After only one weekend of Open Houses, we received many offers all of which were over asking price. Further, Joan introduced us to a local attorney who facilitated the closing with ease. We continued our 1031 Exchange and this attorney was intimately familiar with the ins and outs of this product.
Aside from being a seasoned and successful agent, Joan is a very approachable person who is easy to speak with and provides her undivided attention to getting the property sold for the highest value in the shortest cycle. She kept us on track with respect to the punch list of items needed to close on the propoerty, i.e. 6D Certificate, final water and sewer bills, etc.
Having only dealt with Joan, she is an excellent ambassador of Barret Sotheby's International Realty and its value proposition.

A neighbor had used Joan Meyer to sell their house the previous year and had nothing but good things to say about her, so I made a note of her name and office at that time.
When we decided to put our house on the market, we did meet initially with one other realtor for comparison purposes.
On our first meeting with Joanie, we liiked her immediatelly. She had considerable knowledge of the geographical area and had a lot of experience, seeing the ups and downs of the real estate market, and had owned her own offiice in Acton previously. During the initial assessment of the house, she was a nice blend of being professional and approachable. She pointed out positive features of our house.
The next day we received a follow up email from her, saying that she had enjoyed meeting with us and looked forward to working with us, should we decide to choose her, which we did!
From the start, we felt like we were in good hands. She covered all the bases! We had lived in our house for 32 years and had accumulated a lot of "stuff", and had a sentimental attachment. The entire process could have been a nightmare, but Joanie made it almost a pleasure! She has a wonderfully positive attittude! She was extremely accessible and helpful. Her communications were timely and clear from beginning to end! All the minutia that needs to happen to make a real estate tranaction happen were taken care of excellently by her. Thank you Joanie!!!
