Local 4th of July Parades and Fireworks 2025: Where to Celebrate Near You

Boston is known for its legendary Independence Day celebrations – from the five-day Harborfest (one of the country’s largest 4th of July festivals) to the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. But if you don’t want to trek into the city to enjoy the festivities, we’ve got fireworks, parades and carnivals happening right across the week in the towns north of Boston. Here’s our realtor’s pick of the best local places to celebrate Independence Day!

Acton – The 4th of July Independence Day Celebration returns to NARA Park for 2025! Food, free music from fun cover band Thirty6Red and fireworks at 9:30pm

Arlington - gather at Robbins Farm Park on 4th of July from 6pm for a free music concert from favorite oldies band The Reminisants, followed by a broadcast of the Boston Pops concert and the fireworks live on the big screen!

Chelmsford – the traditional Chelmsford Parade - one of the state’s biggest - is planned for the Fourth in the town. Warm up to the celebrations with The Lions Club Country Fair on July 3rd.

Concord – Join the 48th Annual Picnic in the Park from 11am – 4:30pm on the Fourth at Emerson Park. Bring a blanket and enjoy the children’s parade, live music and other family fun activities.

Harvard – Harvard Lions Club will host a fun-filled Independence Day celebration from 9am – 12pm, including antique cars, bike decorating, a parade and flag-raising.

Lexington – the annual Lexington Lions Club 4th of July Carnival is in town from July 2nd - 6th, with fireworks on the evening of Wednesday, July 2nd.

Lincoln – the town is hosting a day of celebration for 4th of July, including a Firecracker run, children’s bike parade, a cook out, a EV car show, and a town-wide swim and concert at Codman Pool!

Sudbury – the Fourth of July Parade moves off from Chiswick Park at 1pm – expect floats and banners from the local community celebrating this year’s theme “Independence Day – The Sudbury Way!”

Waltham – Waltham Recreation Department hosts a free family celebration at Prospect Hill Park from 10am – 2pm – enjoy food trucks, music, inflatables, patriotic crafts & games, amusements and more.
