Celebrating Fall Across Boston's Northwest Suburbs

September means changing leaves, cooler mornings, and a return to familiar rhythms of fall. It also brings with it a packed calendar of community events and great opportunities to reconnect with friends and neighbors. Towns from Acton to Stoneham celebrate the season with fairs, festivals, road races, and other traditions, and Barrett Sotheby’s International Realty is looking forward to being part of many of them this season.

The festivities begin on Sunday, September 13, with the 45th Annual Victorian Fair in Melrose, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We’ll be joining the celebrations alongside local businesses, organizations and community members. The following weekend, Winchester Spirit Weekend, September 18–20, brings a full slate of activities to Winchester, including a spirit fair, beer garden, and the Glen Doherty Memorial Fund Road Race.

Saturday, September 19, is a particularly busy day for local celebrations. Bedford Day brings its annual parade and community festivities to Bedford, and you’ll find the Barrett Sotheby’s International Realty team outside our office before and during the parade with prizes and giveaways. In Stoneham, Town Day takes over the Town Common from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with more than 100 exhibitors, local businesses and organizations, food, entertainment and activities for the whole family. We’ll be there, too, with giveaways and a great raffle prize.

The following weekend, Saturday, September 26, brings Oktoberfest to West Acton Village, and we’re excited to be attending this one as well. The popular community celebration offers plenty of reasons to linger, with local vendors, food, a beer garden, live entertainment, raffles, giveaways and activities for all ages. It’s a great opportunity to explore West Acton Village, support local businesses and enjoy an afternoon with friends and neighbors.

Heading into October, Apple Fest Family Day at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury on October 3 offers more seasonal fun for all with food trucks, live music and hayrides.

Our final fall celebration is the Scarecrow Classic 5K in Lincoln on October 18, which we are proud to sponsor. Whether we’re hosting giveaways, cheering from the sidelines or supporting an event behind the scenes, we’re grateful for the opportunity to take part in the traditions that bring our communities together. We hope to see you along the way!
