Summer’s almost here, and so is the music! As the days get longer and the evenings warmer, our towns come alive with the sounds of summer. From lively town greens to cozy park stages, there’s an incredible variety of outdoor concerts waiting to be enjoyed—whether you're into classical quartets, high-energy tribute bands, or family-friendly singalongs. Spanning from Winchester to Westford, Acton to Bedford, and plenty of stops in between, we’ve gathered our favorite picks for must-see music events this season. Grab a blanket, pack a picnic, and get ready for a summer soundtrack like no other!
The town recreation department is hosting the Nara Park Concerts - a selection of tribute acts, themed nights and family events on Friday nights throughout the summer. Enjoy the music of Elton John, Aerosmith, Taylor Swift and more!
Thursdays in July head to Bedford Town’s Activity Complex at 12 Mudge Way for their Summer Concert Series. July 10th is music from 4EverFab (Beatles), July 17th it’s the Honey Steelers, and July 24th enjoy Radio Roulette!
On Saturday, June 14th, West Concord’s Porchfest – a free, all-ages grassroots music festival - kicks off a summer of music. Followed up by a series of free concerts on Thursdays at 6pm in Rideout Park, West Concord ( July 10th to August 7th).
The Lexington Chamber Summer Concert Series brings free music to Emery Park on Friday nights from July 11th to August 22nd, beginning with 215th Army Band and ending with Gypsy Six. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy an evening of great music and summer fun!
Also this summer, The Lexington Bicentennial Band brings back their free summer concert series on Tuesdays from June 24th – August 19th. Bring your family and a picnic and enjoy marches, show tunes and light classical wind band music in the park. Concerts take place at the bandstand in Hastings Park (except July 1st when concert is in Lexington High School quad).
The Kimball Farm Music Series returns for 2025! All concerts take place on the outdoor music stage behind the batting cages from 6pm – 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays until August 30th. There is no admission fee but space is limited – first come first served!
On Wednesdays from July 9th – Aug 13th enjoy free Concerts on the Common hosted by Winchester Recreation. Bring your own chairs – concerts start at 6:30pm.
Family Farm Nights are back at Wright Locke Farm! A 4-week series of free concerts beginning Tuesday July 15th, and featuring artists including Matt Heaton & the Outside Toys. There’s a cash bar for adults and snacks for all – rain cancels.
Other Towns
A series of free Thursday night concerts at Arlington Reservoir begins on June 26th and runs on alternate weeks until August 21st.
Head to Burlington Town Common for free Family Concerts and Children’s Shows, every Tuesday and Wednesday from June 24th – Aug 6th.
The 4th Carlisle Music Festival @ Old Home Day takes place Sat June 21st and Sun June 22nd –amazing hometown talent, food and other family-friendly fun.
Gather on the lawn at Fruitlands Museum on Wednesdays and Thursdays for a series of picnic concert with stunning sunset views – beginning June 11th!
A series of free Summer Concerts will be hosted at the Codman Pool on Wednesdays from July 9th – 30th. Concerts start at 6pm.
Maynard Community Band Summer Concerts take place at Maynard Memorial Park, beginning June 25th and then every Wednesday at 7pm until the end of August.
